Contingency plan real estate is steadily becoming a thing.
With social issues like global warming, climate change, and nuclear war on all our minds, its no surprise that people are thinking more and more about how to survive, if our society falls apart.
The first privately-owned underground bunker in the US recently hit the Georgia real estate market to the tune of $17.5 million.
Known as The Facility, the bunker is located 45-feet underground in Tifton, GA. It sits on 20 acres and has 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and is certified to withstand a 20,000-ton nuclear blast. It also contains a common area with a large home theater with seating for 15, a kitchen, recreation area, and four luxury apartments that contain 2 bedrooms each, a bathroom, a kitchen, dining area, living room, modern HVAC system, and private-security internet.
The bunker was originally built in 1969 and recently renovated to government standards.
$17.5 million is a hefty chunk of change, but I always say, its good to have a contingency plan.[ via ]
