All over the world the race is on to build the tallest building.
I remember the first time I saw my first skyscraper. I grew up in a small town, so seeing any building over 20 stories was enough to make me giddy. I still remember the feeling of pain in the back of my neck from constantly looking up at the sky at all the tall buildings. The sad part was, I was in Tampa, Florida.

Some of the skyscrapers currently under development however, are architectural wonders. Everyone with Internet knows about the beautiful shapes of skyscrapers in the Middle East, but other countries such as China and Malaysia are quickly catching up, and adding their own super-tall skyscrapers into the mix.
Unfortunately it appears that New York is not on the list in regards to the five tallest buildings currently under development, but given the state of turmoil our country currently faces, that is probably a good thing.
Here are the five tallest towers under construction, their locations, and planned completion dates:
Jeddah Tower, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 3,281 ft, 2020
Wuhan Greenland Center, Wuhan, China, 2,087 ft, 2018
Merdeka PNB118, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2,067 ft, 2020
Ping An Finance Center, Shenzen, China, 1,965 ft, 2017
