Tampa, Florida is the housing market to break into, for new homeowners.
I lived in Tampa for eight years in college, so I can speak from experience when I say that it’s a great place to live. My favorite part about Tampa was that it was mid-sized enough to feel like a metropolitan city, but spread out enough that you have access to everything, from outdoor activities, to beautiful beach communities, and a strong sense of culture and art. Apparently, this is no secret anymore, as Tampa was recently named the best place in the US for first time home buyers.

The reasons for this are that Tampa has a slew of affordable homes, less competition in the market, a strong forecast in terms of value appreciation. In a recent ranking by Zillow of 35 large housing markets, Texas and Florida were found to be the most appealing for first time buyers, with Tampa coming in at the top. Other contenders were Indianapolis, IL, Houston, TX, Orlando, FL, San Antonio, TX, St. Louis, MS, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas, NV, and Dallas, TX.
So if you are finally looking to take the plunge and buy your own home, those are the cities where you will get the most bang for your buck.
Seriously though, Tampa is worth a look.[ via ] [ via ]
