Seattle has been named the best city for bicyclists in the US.
If you live in New York, you know that bicyclists can sometimes be the bane of your existence. Not only are there tourists, riding on Citibikes, on the sidewalk, shaking like newborn baby deer, but there are also angry hipster bicyclists who aren’t afraid to run over your foot for standing too far into the street.
There are a lot of cities where biking is a much more friendly mode of transportation however, and according to Zillow, Seattle is at the top of the list.
To make that decision, analysts looked at the percent of commuters who bike to work, how long it took them, the number of real estate listings that included bike storage, and the number of bike lanes provided by the city.
Seattle has seven miles of bike lanes, and it takes about 27 minutes for the average biking commute, down fro the 32 minutes required for other forms of transit.
All the numbers, as well as the other cities included in the study are included below. The moral of the story is, if you are a hardcore bicyclist (and/or a rude hipster) maybe Seattle is the right place for you.via ] [ via ]
