A retro-fitted dumpster in Williamsburg seeks $1,200 a month in rent.
I don’t know what the world is coming to, where people flock to a city that is so expensive that people have to live in dumpsters. This dumpster appeared on Craigslist with the following message:
This art deco hipster retro mini apt from a converted dumpster is green friendly and sustainable. .and trendy…1200 month. Or 200 per night.
Yes, it’s true. For $1,200 a month you can sleep in a 6 sq ft receptacle for trash and dead bodies in the oh-so-trendy neighborhood of Williamsburg. The glorified trash can features a bar, sink, stove, and toilet inside, as well as a shower, barbeque, mini-bar, deck, and retractable roof on the outside.

I don’t really know what else there is to say about this, except for the fact that I pay $630 a month, live in Manhattan, and my apartment is the size of a small house. So unless you are desperately looking for some hipster street credibility, you can probably do better than living in a literal dumpster.
