If you have ever wanted an estate in coastal Connecticut, Katharine Hepburn’s mansion is up for grabs.
Katharine Hepburn is a staple in American cinema history. Even though Audrey Hepburn is probably more well-known, you rarely see a black and white movie night without at least one Katharine Hepburn flick on the docket. That being said, her Connecticut estate has been having some trouble selling in recent years, and has hit the market again at 11.8 million.
Built in 1939 in Fenwick, Connecticut, the 8,368 square-foot property features six bedrooms, eight baths, seven fireplaces, chef-grade appliances, a screened-in bluestone porch, a private dock and 220 feet of beach.
In case that wasn’t enough for you, it also has a pond that overlooks a nine-hole golf course and enough space to land a seaplane, should you decide to do some flying on a nice summer day.
The mansion first hit the market in 2011, at $28 million. It left the market in 2014 after a slow price reduction to $14.8 million.
It now stands on the Connecticut market at $11.8 million, which is a small price to pay for all the included amenities and Hollywood royalty pedigree.
I’m not much for the Cape Cod or Connecticut lifestyle, but this estate seems to have all the trappings one could want, at a greatly reduced price.
