The bathroom is one of the most-used rooms in any home, so it stands to reason that the wear and tear might require more maintenance over the years. The problem is that since you see your bathroom every day, you might not realize when it goes past it’s expiration date. These handy tips will help you decided if its time for a bathroom update.­­

Leaks- This one may seem obvious, but you would be surprised how many people live with leaks, especially on the ceiling. If any part of your bathroom is leaking, from the walls to the faucets, it is a great opportunity to update and renovate, and it can save you money in the future.

Bathroom smell– If your bathroom smells at all like mold or water damage, you may need to replace the seal on your toilet, or check under the sink for sneaky water spots that can add to an overall ‘bathroomy’ smell.

Layout– A bad layout can totally ruin the potential of a great bathroom. If the layout of your bathroom is outdated, or inconvenient, you should absolutely renovate. You would be surprised at how much better you feel in your home when it is laid out properly.

Lighting– Chances are, you look in your bathroom mirror every day. If your bathroom has bad lighting, you are probably going to work feeling bad about yourself as well. Lighting is one of the easiest things to change about a space, and it has the most impact.

Storage- Every bathroom needs a decent amount of storage, so if you look around your bathroom and see clutter everywhere, it’s time to add some intelligent storage solutions.
