Mobile living takes on new meaning when an old van can become your new home.
Many people thought the mobile and tiny living trends weren’t going to last very long, but as we can see in everything from internet articles, to DIY TV shows, this trend isn’t going anywhere, which is ironic since it is a mobile trend, after all.
Every day it seems like people are finding new and interesting ways to live off the grid, and on the road.
A photographer from Hungary named Norbert Juhasz and his fiancé Dora have upped the ante however, by turning a 16 year-old van into their new tiny home on wheels. Their goal was to live free and save some money, so they converted the van’s cargo space into livable square footage by implementing multi-use furniture sourced from reclaimed materials, such as the sofa which pulls out into a bed. They also use solar panels in conjunction with the engine’s generator to power the home, and a water tank for the indoor sink, and the outdoor shower. The tiny mobile home also comes with a gas range, a refrigerator, and storage for pots and pans.
Living in a van may not seem like a long-term solution for many people, but if you are the type of person who really doesn’t need much to live, you might consider doing what Juhasz did. The one unanswered question I have is where do they go to the bathroom? I am the type of person who doesn’t need much to live, but uninterrupted bathroom time is one of my main non-negotiables.via ]
