A beautiful new building design is coming to the Hells Kitchen skyline.
The skyline in New York City is ever changing, and it seems like we are always talking about a new design or development slated for construction. Some of them are classic and streamlined, some are garish and controversial, but the new development nearing completion at 606 West 57th Street seems like a nice modern addition to the existing architecture.
The 42-story, 1,028 mixed-use building sits at the corner of 11th Ave and 57th Street, and will feature mostly apartments upon completion. 206 units will remain permanently below market rates, and be available through New York’s housing lottery. On the ground level, the building will also offer 37,463 square-feet of retail space to fit in with surrounding buildings, although I’m not sure who is shopping all the way out on 11th Ave.

According to developer TF Cornerstone, the rental building will have a 400-car parking garage (which is great, since no trains go that far west), a fitness center and a resident’s lounge.
The building is expected to reach completion in 2018. So given that rental rates in New York have been falling lately, you might actually be able to afford it in a year.via ]
